This exceptional salt carries with it a rich heritage dating back two millennia, steeped in time-honoured traditions. Hailing from the picturesque coastal regions of France, the Celtic salt extraction techniques have been meticulously refined over centuries. This ancient art involves the gentle evaporation of seawater in clay ponds, harnessing the power of the sun and wind. This delicate process preserves essential minerals and imparts the salt with its unique flavour, distinctive grey hue, and mineral-rich composition. Notably, this entire process allows the salt's natural flavour to shine through, with no reliance on mechanical or chemical interventions.

Hand-harvested along the Celtic sea coast in the idyllic region of Brittany, Sel de Guerande is located within a nationally protected area and holds the esteemed status of a World Heritage Site. The salt is crafted through the simple alchemy of sun and wind-driven evaporation, without undergoing filtration or cleansing processes, ensuring its purity from pollutants associated with mechanical and chemical treatments.
